Our Australian Animals - Week 9

Hello for the last time my wonderfully clever Year 2 friends.
I got to see your digital books this week and I an extremely proud of you all.  They are beautifully made and I would like you all to give yourselves a HUGE pat on the back, well done!!!

Today is the last time I get to talk to you and I am feeling quite sad but now I have your digital books I can always watch them to cheer me up.

I have had a bit of computer trouble since my last blog entry.  One of the keepers decided to teach the rhinos to ballet dance to Hi-5 and everything went crazy!!!!!  The rhinos danced into my office and stomped on my computer.  It is now as flat as a ruler so I have had to borrow my brother Stan the School Teachers computer to write to you.

The zoo has decided that the rhinos have to buy me a new computer with their pocket money so I will have to wait now for them to save up all their money.

Well, I best go and clean up all the mess from the ballet dancing rhinos.  It was great to talk to you guys every week and I am so happy that you let me look at you digital books.  I am going to display them on my new computer, (when the rhinos buy it), in my office for all my visitors to see.

Well done.  Good bye for now.

P.S. I have made you a certificate to show how proud of you I am.  Sorry about the paw marks but the lion cubs decided to help me!!!

Hello all you Harry Hard workers in Year 2.

I am really excited this week as next week your teachers are going to put your digital books about native Australian animals on my blog so I can get to read them and see all the hard work you have been doing over the last few weeks.  Tim Turtle has told me that he got to see some of your pages and they are FANTASTIC!!

The other zoo keepers and I have made a digital book of our own.  It was really hard work but we all worked together and helped each other which made it really fun as well.  We have put our digital book in the weeks blog for you to look at.  We hope you enjoy it.

Keep up the good work my little friends.
All the best for your presentation next week.

G’day mates, how’s the native Australian animal hunt going.  I haven’t heard for Elle Emu, Sam Snake or Tim Turtle this week, I guess they are having too much fun with their new Year 2 friends.

Because you guys have been working so hard over the past few weeks the other zoo keepers and I decided to make up a worksheet to help you see how much you have learned about native Australia animals.

Your teachers can print it off my blog for you to try.  Good luck and keep up the good work.
Your smiling friend
P.S. Had a bit of trouble making this worksheet as the magpies kept flying down and stealing the animal pictures and the monkey’s kept taking our glue sticks to throw at the ants!!!  It can get pretty crazy here at the zoo.

Hello to all my Year 2 friends.

I heard you have all had an exciting week.  I think it is fantastic that you got to talk to you new friends from Emerald State School,  Coober Pedy State School and Mole Creek Primary School.  I hope you asked them lots of questions about the native Australian animals that live near them.

I think I might ring my friend Dug that works at the Dubbo Zoo and have a talk with him about what animals he has in his Zoo.  Asking questions is a great way to find out things.  Well done Year 2.

Oh, no!!!! Must go as the snakes have climbed out of their cage and are scaring the budgies, they think the snakes are going to eat them for lunch are they are making a loud noisy to try and scare them off.

Keep up the hard work.

Hello my Year 2 friends.

Today I would like to tell you how proud I am of you guys and how hard you are working to learn about native Australian animals.  Elle Emu tells me that you are using your Pete Persistence and Olivia Organisation skills, well done.

I have put some crazy photos of my animal friends here at the zoo.  The animals in my photos are NOT native Australian animals but they were feeling a bit sad that I hadn’t taken their photos so I promised them I would sent some to you all this week.

Keep up the good work.
Your friend from the Zoo.

Our Australian Animals - Week 4

I have decided to use this picture on my weekly blogs now as I haven't got time to chase those crazy moneys around to try and get my digital camera every week!!!!

Hello my friends. This week I am really excited to talk to you.  Sam the Snake emailed me on Tuesday and told me about all the work you guys are doing and how hard you are working so I thought of a way that I could help you.

I have gone around my zoo here in Melbourne and gathered some information about my native Australian animal friends that live here at the zoo and made a video and took some photos that I have added to my blog below.

The poor old tigers were upset that I didn’t take their photo so I had to tell them that it was because they came from India not Australia.  I made them a great dinner of chicken with a drink of milk and they were much happier.

Hope you enjoy my video
Bye for now

Hi Friends.  Mandy here again.

You many have noticed I drew myself a sad face this week, (the monkeys took my new digital camera and won’t give it back).

It's because your animal visitors emailed me last night and told me that you were ALL going on an excursion around your towns this week to look at domestic and native animals.

I was excited to hear about your upcoming trips and wish I could come with you but I have so many animals to look after here at the zoo.  So today when I go around my Zoo to feed them I am going to pretend I'm on an excursion.

Remember to take heaps of photos, ask lots of questions and record them on your MP3 players so you can look and listen to them when you get back.  You may be able to use our MP3 recordings and photos in your digital books.  I cant wait to see them.

Well, have fun researching on your excursion and remember to take a hat and water bottle or you'll end up as red as my friend Freddie and

his family!!!!!

Bye for now
