Week 5: Digital Tool 11 Digital Video

Below is a link to my 'Video" creation.  All I can say is "OH MY GOODNESS."  I found this very time consuming and not at all easy to do.  However, I understand how once you were aware of HOW the program worked it could be a fantastic tool to introduce into the classroom to promote higher order thinking learning.  I think it would encourage the following skills in children:
  • help build confidence in their speaking abilities
  • collaboration between students
  • self evaluation of their own abilities
  • sharing of ideas
  • experimenting with the inclusion of new technologies

Some areas of application could be:
  •  a student produced movie for drama or SOSE lesson
  •  interviews for history, SOSE, art, language, English, maths classes
  • records of their abilities for both their own evaluation and reflection as well as the Learning Manager

An example could be for an art lesson, a small group of students research an artist and choose 3 of their paintings which they would take around the school, record the reactions of staff, students and parents to the pieces of art.  These comments would then be used in a presentation produced by the group about the artist and their work for the class to view.
